Taylor Family Reunion

Just recently I was in charge of this year's Taylor Family Reunion. There are six kids in my family and each of us is married which doubles the numbers and if you add that to the seventeen nieces and nephews and my parents you can imagine how crazy it was! We rented a cabin in Edan and our plans were to go boating every day but for some reason it was cold windy and rainy that weekend so it didn't really turn out. Who knew that it would be that way the first weekend of August! So instead of boating we went on a gondola ride up the mountain and looked at some beautiful views! It was a lot of fun and a great place to take some sweet pics!
Of course we can't take any serious pictures!

We are missing one family in the picture but this gives you an idea of how many people are in my family not including the extended family!

4th of July

On July 2nd we sat down to decide what we were going to do for the weekend when we came upon an add in KSL about a sweet condo for a pretty good price. We called, booked it, and left with Kristin and Dusty the very next day. It was SO beautiful and SO much fun! The inside was so nice- every room had a big flat screen tv and it came with a hot tub right on the balcony. We spent the whole weekend playing card games, eating junk food, swimming, and playing tennis. These are some pictures of the outside.
The condo was right on the lake so we were able to watch beautiful sunsets and enjoy each others company. My favorite thing about vacations are that you can eat whatever you want and sleep whenever you want and its ok. I never want to come home from them! Here are some pics of the lake and the sunset.
When we got home we decided to go and see the Thanksgiving Point fireworks but we didn't want to deal with the traffic. Our solution was drive to a little road behind Thanksgiving Point and watch it from our car. We had a great view and it was a LOT of fun! We played cards until the fireworks started then enjoyed our view. All in all it was a great weekend!

The Latest...

So it has been awhile since I have blogged but its the summer which seems like a legitimate excuse to me. My life lately has been filled up with school and getting my classroom ready for next year. It is a little ridiculous how much time I am putting into decorating and organizing my room especially when I am not getting paid to do this. I am just so excited about it I can't help myself. It feels like summer is flying by and I just found out it even came today. How did I miss it!! Last year a spent so much time planning trips and activities that we got the most out of our summer and here I am sitting in my house while its nice outside blogging! That's it... I am outta here!

Confessions of a small town girl...

I grew up in an area smaller than a town... you could call it a village I guess :) I had around 10 kids at the most in my class and our high school (9-12) had 58 people in it. You know how comedians always do the "You know you are a redneck if you..." I swear every time I am like oh ya we used to do that all of the time. So here is my you know you lived in a small town if.... and yes I have done or witnessed all of them :)

10. Your school was K-12.
9. Cow tipping was a normal Friday night activity.
8. Your school was a BB school! Yes it goes 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A, 1A, B, BB, Homeschoolers :)
7. You had to combine three and at times 4 different towns to make up your sports teams.
6. You drive your lawn mowers and 4 wheelers to get the mail, grocery shop, or even go to church!
5. Your summer was filled with wooding trips. (We had to cut down trees and put them in the back of the truck so we could prepare for the winter... we had a wood burning stove to heat our house.)
4. Your father was also your volleyball, softball, and track coach as well as your PE and math teacher.
3. You had to wake up and be at school at 5 am to do your sports practices because after practice you had to go work on the farm.
2. You rode lawn mowers down steep hills in neutral for fun!
1. Seeing deer, coyotes, horses, chickens, cows, moose, goats, and pheasants in your front yard was a normal site.
Most of this is really embarrassing buts its true... I didn't really realize how different it was until I moved to Utah and then went back to Washington again to visit. I looked like a high maintenance girly girl when I went back..... I didn't fit in anymore and I wanted to go put on a pair of overalls so everyone would stop looking at me!

Old Treasures

Just recently I found these pictures on an old phone... they were fun to see and remember! Some of them are cute... others funny.... and some just weird! The first is a picture of me and my nephew Trevan, the second and third are of me and Jed when we were dating, and the last is of me and my sister Brandie.

Just as a side note the crazy one of Jed and I has a story. Obviously it was late and we were very bored when we found this trophy.... to make a long story short the trophy inspired us and brought out our white trash roots! And yes... Jed did my hair.. don't we look great!
